Former WeDriveU Vice President joins as Director of Business Development, bringing 15+ years of experience to Zeelo's growth with employers and private schools across California, Oregon and Washington
San Francisco, CA & Boston, MA — 03 November 2026 — Zeelo, the fully managed transportation provider for employers and schools, today announced the appointment of transportation industry veteran Gillian Zoss as Director of Business Development. Zoss will lead the company's expansion on the West Coast. She will bring employers and private schools across the Bay Area, California, Oregon and Washington a new way of running transportation: a single partner accountable for the whole program, from the technology to the vehicles.
For years, organizations moving people to work or school have faced the same choice. They could hire a transportation operator to run the fleet, or license software to plan routes and track vehicles. Many end up buying both. But between the operator and the software sits what Zeelo calls the "missing middle": the day-to-day management of the program, and accountability for whether it delivers, including ensuring costs and efficiency are being managed to targets.
Zeelo's fully managed model was built to close that gap. It brings three elements together under one partner:
The result is one point of accountability, with incentives aligned to the customer's success. Riders, drivers and the organizations that depend on them get an experience that is effortless, safe and predictable. Trusted, every trip.
The Bay Area is home to some of the most established corporate shuttle programs in the country. West Coast employers face familiar pressures: return-to-office mandates, hybrid work patterns, competitive hiring, congestion, limited parking and ambitious sustainability targets. Zeelo is bringing its fully managed model to the region as a new alternative for employers who want more than a shuttle contract or another piece of software and need the flexibility to cater to this new working approach.
The same approach is just as relevant for the region's private schools, where long commutes and congested campus drop-offs limit who can realistically attend. Zeelo's school programs combine vetted drivers, live vehicle tracking, and a dedicated parent and student app, so families know where their children are on every trip. Because the program is fully managed, schools can widen their catchment, ease traffic around campus and support their enrollment goals without taking on the work of running transportation themselves. This is on top of a delivery model with safety at its core.
Zoss brings more than 15 years of experience in the transportation industry. She joins Zeelo from WeDriveU, where she spent 11 years as Vice President of Business Development. In those roles she partnered with some of the leading corporations in the Bay Area and across California, Oregon and Washington to build and grow their employee transportation programs. Before WeDriveU, she spent five years in sales at Creative Bus Sales in Hayward, California, giving her a deep understanding of the vehicles and operators that power shuttle programs.
"The West Coast has had strong shuttle options for years, but it hasn't had one where a single partner owns the whole outcome," said Sam Ryan, CEO & Co-Founder of Zeelo. "Our model is a new way of doing things. Technology, management and transportation come from one accountable partner, with our incentives tied to the customer's results. Gillian knows this market as well as anyone, and she has spent more than a decade helping the region's best-known employers get their people to work reliably. She's the right person to bring that to employers and private schools across the West Coast, and we're thrilled to welcome her to the team."
"I've spent more than 15 years in this industry, and I've seen firsthand how important reliable transportation is, both to businesses and to the people who keep them running," said Zoss. "What excites me about Zeelo is that it brings the technology, the day-to-day management and the transportation together under one partner who is accountable for the result. That changes the conversation with employers and schools. Instead of managing a bus company and a software vendor separately, they get one team focused on what they actually need: easier hiring, better retention, safe and reliable journeys, lower costs and a more sustainable commute. I'm excited to bring that to the Bay Area and across the West Coast."
The West Coast launch builds on Zeelo's growth across the US, UK and Ireland since its founding in 2016. It reflects the company's continued investment in its US expansion, as employers look to transportation to support hiring, retention, return-to-office and sustainability goals, and as private schools look to it to widen access and grow enrollment.
