All Hallows asked Zeelo to analyse their current routing and use their technology to review whether the routes actually matched where students currently lived. This in-depth analysis allowed Zeelo to provide the College with brand new insights into their school bus service and the efficiency of their spend.
By analysing All Hallows current school bus transport in great detail, Zeelo was able to find ways to drastically reduce the average journey time by removing unused stops and splitting the routes covering too much mileage. By analysing the stop searches collected on our website and apps, and the ticket purchase data, Zeelo was able to spot new areas of demand that the current route network had been missing out on.
The changes suggested and implemented by Zeelo helped reduce the average travel time by 12% across all 8 routes. By splitting a route into two, we reduced journey times by 20 mins and increased usage by 38%. Zeelo and All Hallows subsequently agreed to increase the vehicle size across 3 routes after experiencing a surge in demand. Finally, Zeelo used its proprietary routing software to identify underserved areas and suggested new stops to increase occupancy.
Overall usage of the service has grown by 38% within 5 weeks of launching the changes to the school bus service.
