Rishworth was struggling with poor routing going through areas prone to traffic jam at peak times, which meant only 85% of their routes arrived on time at school. As a result, parents and students were understandably very frustrated. On top of these reliability issues, Rishworth School had no visibility into the utilisation of each route, and couldn't easily understand which stops were delaying the bus service the most.
Zeelo conducted a thorough assessment of the school's bus service. Each bus stop usage was analysed during the first school term, to understand which ones weren't really used throughout the week and which ones were causing unnecessary delays. Leveraging ridership insights and parents feedback, we used our proprietary routing technology to recommend routes changes during a consultative process with all parties.

As a result, we were able to reduce lateness by 11%, increase the route ridership and improve client satisfaction thanks to the average journey times being reduced. Clear communications undertaken by Zeelo's dedicated marketing team helped publicise the changes being made to the route and ensure parents would try the bus service.
The new route continues to receive 5 star Trustpilot reviews and the overall on-time performance reached 99% compared to 85% prior to Zeelo taking over the contract.
